A Greeneville woman was charged with aggravated burglary early this morning at a Clay Way residence.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the home shortly after 12:30 AM on the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Kristen Bales of Old Kentucky Road South, who said she had entered the home because she was hungry. The residents were not there at the time.
Bales also had put on a pair of earrings that belonged to one of the victims.
The owners of the home arrived and said the earrings Bales had put on are valued at around $3,000.
Bales was arrested for aggravated burglary and theft between $2,500 and $10,000. She was also issued a criminal trespass warning for the property.
