A woman from Mohawk was assaulted during a search for her missing family dog Sunday afternoon.
According to the report, the woman and another person were searching the neighborhood for their family dog, who had been missing for a couple weeks. The two went searching in Greeneleigh Village and spoke to a woman who said they picked up the dog and took it to the pound.
The woman then allegedly became agitated and struck the victim in the face. After leaving that location, the victim went to Animal Control looking for the dog. The dog had not been dropped off at Animal Control and has been chipped. No charges were listed for the suspect, who was unknown at the time of the report.
