A Chuckey man was arrested Thursday about 11 AM after several days of investigation with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
49 year-old Joseph Bickford was found at a home on the Erwin Highway and was allegedly hiding at the residence. Bickford reportedly had warrants on Failure to Appear, Violation of Probation, and Criminal Violation of Probation. Deputies arrived at the home Thursday morning and saw a vehicle parked out front.
Bickford was seen jumping out the driver’s side and immediately began running across the yard toward the back of the home. A deputy had to chase him. After about 30 yards another deputy on the scene was able to move her patrol vehicle in front of the suspect, giving the deputy the chance to catch up Bickford. At that time Bickford put his hands in the air and was ordered to the ground.
He was arrested and transported to the Greene County Detention Center without further incident.
