An Afton woman reported fund taken off her EBT card on Monday.
The Dogwood Park woman said that she received a call from someone stating that her EBT card was under investigation. The woman gave the suspect her card information and the PIN.
The victim later contacted the EBT fraud department and discovered the card had been used in Florida and Las Vegas for a total of $1,140.
An incident was reported last week in which an Oakland Park man discovered $830 was taken of his EBT from transactions in New York. That victim said he received a call recently from an automated machine saying his EBT card had been locked and he then gave out his card information.
If you receive a call of this nature, hang up and do not give out any EBT card information.
