The Greeneville City Council will consider approving an agreement with Atmos Energy Corporation for a period of 20 years at their meeting this afternoon.
The ordinance states the corporation will reconstruct, maintain, and operate a natural gas plant or plants for the manufacturing and processing of any kind of gas, and for distribution of lines and other equipment necessary; as well as installation and maintenance of pipes, pipelines, distribution lines and other equipment.
On the agenda is consideration to purchase two 2023 Dodge Durango’s for Admin and Detectives at the Greeneville Police Department, Bullet Proof Vests and Vest Carriers for the Police Department, consideration for a special event sign request for Barbecue, Bluegrass and Brew August 26th, as well as a sign request for the Fair Enuf Car Show, at the Greene County Fair Grounds on September 30th, 2023.
Additionally, the Town of Greeneville will request consideration to apply, accept, administer, and amend a Violent Crime Intervention Fund grant for the Greeneville Police Department as well as a Tourism Enhancement Grant for the town, consideration to participate in a Driver Training Matching Grant Program, and in the Property Conservation Matching Grant Program.
The City Council will meet at 4 PM today at the Greeneville Energy Authority Building, in the G. Thomas Love Board Room.
