A purse was stolen from a woman Sunday afternoon while she was shopping at Ingles on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
The Chuckey woman said her purse was in the shopping cart when a male snatched it. The man allegedly ran out the front door and got into the passenger side of a white Chevy hatchback with an unknown tag number. The vehicle looked to be a newer car.
According to the report, the man was Caucasian, slim and tall, in his early 30’s, and was wearing a green t-shirt with blue jeans. Items contained in the purse that was stolen included a cell phone, the victim’s keys, checkbook, license, social, and a debit card.
The Greeneville Police Department is investigating the report.
