A Greeneville man was charged after being found slumped over in his vehicle at a local gas station early this morning.
Police arrived on the Asheville Highway around 2:30 AM, to a complaint of an unconscious male in his car at the gas pumps. Officers reported the man, Justis Metcalf of Whirlwind Road, was difficult to wake up, and was unsteady when he stepped out of the vehicle. Metcalf was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests.
A plastic bong was found in the center console, and a container that had residue which was believed to be THC wax, as well as a bottle of liquor.
Metcalf was placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
