The 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk ‘Jogging for Jess’ is this Saturday, August 12 beginning at 8 AM.
The race begins at Pioneer Park at Tusculum University on 135 Shiloh Road. The registration fee for adults is $35 and $25 for those 18 and under. On the day of the race, registration fees will be $40 for adults and $30 for ages 18 and under. For all virtual participants the fee is $40. Tusculum has parking available at the baseball field and surrounding areas.
Jessica was a 2017 graduate from Greeneville High School and was on the Dean’s List in Nursing School at ETSU. She enjoyed running 5K’s with her Sole Sisters Running Group. On December 6, 2020 an automobile accident ended her life. After her death, friends and family raised money for a scholarship in her memory. The Jessica Colter Memorial Scholarship 5K Race started in 2021 as a way to celebrate her life and provides annual scholarships to students pursuing a medical career.
