Greeneville Municipal Planning Director Randy Davenport gave the board an update on projects in the County and announced developers expressed interest in placing a Panda Express at the site location across from Walmart, on the Andrew Johnson Highway.
Not much was shared regarding the new restaurant, which is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in American Chinese cuisine. Davenport just said that they want a Greeneville location for Panda Express and they want it at the site on Harlan Street, which will be known as ‘Shops at Greeneville.’
Developers on that site who built the Urgent Care Center, are still working on getting the site ready and plan on adding a retaining wall. They plan on adding 4 restaurants and a retail like store, with one of the restaurants seating about 300 people and over 200 parking spots in the lot. Since growth continues and traffic has been a concern, developers have mentioned they hired a consultant for a traffic study.
Furthermore, construction workers were pulled from the Scooter’s Coffee project and have stopped working. According to Davenport, construction has paused due to workers not getting paid.
