A motor vehicle accident was reported yesterday before 5 PM on Snapps Ferry Road with the driver sustaining injuries.
According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver, 73 year-old Donnie Shelton, was traveling south on Snapps Ferry Road when he crossed over to the left side of the centerline, entering the northbound lanes. The vehicle continued veering left traveling southbound in the opposite lane and eventually went off the roadway into a ditch, striking a tree.
Shelton was reportedly not wearing a seat belt during the accident and sustained injuries. No further information was provided in the report.
