A Greene County man was charged with Driving Under the Influence Saturday, following a crash in the Food City parking lot on the Asheville Highway.
Around 7:00 PM Saturday officers arrived at the scene, and according to the report, it appeared that Chad Wilhoit, of Flag Branch Road, had struck the front of another vehicle while attempting to park. Prior to the crash report, officers had been given a Be on the Look Out for Wilhoit’s vehicle by dispatch, after it had allegedly been seen weaving on the roadway and squealing its tires.
Wilhoit performed poorly on field sobriety tasks, and was determined to be a danger to himself and the public. Wilhoit was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and failure of financial responsibility law, and was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
