At approximately 7:15 last night, Greeneville Police received a presence request from the Greeneville Fire Department at the Commons on Tusculum Boulevard.
Upon Arrival, officers made contact with Greeneville firefighters who claimed that Shannon Gibson appeared to be passed out behind the wheel in the parking lot of Hobby Lobby.
Officers made contact with Gibson, who reportedly had glassy and bloodshot eyes. Gibson stated she picked her friend up earlier in the day, and her friend walked off.
Gibson was unsteady on her feet and slurring her speech, according to the report.
Gibson was placed under arrest for DUI. When searching the vehicle, officers found two baggies of methamphetamine totaling .8 grams.
Gibson was charged with DUI 2nd, violation of implied consent, and simple possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to the Greene County Detention Center without further incident.
