Early Voting concluded today with a decrease in early votes compared to last year.
July 14th, the first day for early voting, brought the highest amount of voters with 38 ballots cast. An additional 7 votes were cast yesterday, bringing the total to 335 votes.
Compared to last year, early voting was down approximately 75% in the town of Greeneville, as the early vote total for 2022 was over 2,000.
This year’s election is only for those who reside within Greeneville’s 1st ward. On the ballot for 1st ward council member is Ginny Kidwell, Kristin Girton, and Tim Ward.
This year will also be the last odd-year election for the Greeneville City Council. The two candidates who receive the most votes in this year’s election will serve a 3-year term to realign with even-year elections in 2026.
The Town of Greeneville Municipal election will be held on next Thursday, August 3rd.
