A man was arrested for public intoxication around midnight today after officers were notified of a man slumped over at the counter at the Walgreens Pharmacy.
When the Greeneville Police Department arrived at 1650 East Andrew Johnson Highway, they found the man identified as William C. Dunbar of Mosheim. Dunbar admitted to officers he took a ‘hit of Methamphetamine” and 2 Xanax tablets. He was reportedly nodding off while speaking with them and could not complete his sentences without falling asleep. Dunbar’s eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred.
He was arrested for his safety and the safety of the public and was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
