A Greeneville man was arrested following a traffic stop early this morning.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle around 6:00 AM at the Stone Dam and Milligan Road intersection that did not have a tag light and had expired registration.
A records check showed the driver, Randy Darnell of Leonard Street, had an active failure to appear warrant out of Greene County.
A K-9 arrived on the scene and showed a positive alert on the vehicle. A search turned up a glass pipe, a baggie with drug residue, a baggie with a substance identified as meth, and a lighter.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Darnell was transported to the Greene County Detention Center for simple possession of a schedule 2 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also received citations for the tag light and registration.
