Much of downtown Greeneville was affected by a power outage this morning.
Greeneville Energy Authority President Chuck Bowlin said that crews working on the Depot Street project hit a main power line serving the block between Church Street and Summer Street. Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt said that the Greene County Courthouse was closed until power was restored. Sessions Court and other cases were in recess until Noon.
Parts of Church Street and South College Street area were also affected.
Power was restored around 11:15 AM.
