A Greeneville woman and Limestone man were charged after an attempted shoplifting incident on Monday afternoon.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department responded to Family Dollar on Asheville Highway shortly after 12:30 PM. The manager said a man and woman were seen concealing items in the woman’s purse. The woman initially gave police a false name. She let police look in her purse and no items were seen from the store.
The manager asked the woman and the man, identified as Brandon Campbell of Rector Lane, be trespassed from the property. While police issuing the trespass warnings, the information the woman provided could not be found. She then correctly identified herself as Samantha Arwood of Venice Lane. A records check showed she had a federal violation of probation warrant on file with the US Marshals Service. The warrant was confirmed with full extradition.
As Arwood was being placed under arrest, two glass pipes, baggies and a pill bottle with drug residue were found in her purse. She also admitted to having a bag with paraphernalia inside her shorts.
In addition the warrant, Arwood faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal impersonation.
