The Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission will meet this morning and consider recommendations including one from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to require a Traffic Impact Study on a section of U.S. 11-E Bypass.
The study will be done from the intersection of the Erwin Highway to the intersection of Harlan Street and Morgan Road and was recommended to address the increased traffic. With several projects on the way and the Johnson Farms Development progressing, traffic volumes are expected to increase dramatically.
That section mentioned would be known as ‘Shops at Greeneville’ and the installation of a traffic signal at Serral Drive may be required to maintain safety. According to the agenda, the commission will require the signal to be installed and functional before any site plans are approved in the Shops at Greeneville development.
The commission will meet at 9:30 AM this morning at the Greeneville Energy Authority Building, in the G. Thomas Love Board Room.
