A car left the roadway and overturned in Paint Creek in an accident late last night. The occupant was reportedly able to escape the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.
According to the report, the Ashley Alms of Marshall, North Carolina, was driving on Lower Paint Creek Road just after midnight when she attempted to negotiate a curve and struck a large boulder on the side of the roadway. The impact caused the car to go over an embankment where it landed on its roof in the creek at the base of Kelly Falls. Alms complained of an injury to her collarbone, but refused transport by EMS.
The Paint Creek corridor road was closed briefly Friday while the vehicle was pulled from the creek by Casper’s Wrecker Service.
