The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA) has announced the launch of a new digital platform.
A new website called “Southern Ag Today” features daily agriculture updates, articles, and resources for the southeastern area.
Crop marketing specialist Aaron Smith and agricultural trade expert Andrew Muhammad from the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture were among the core members that helped form the novel platform. Fifteen of the contributing authors are from the Institute, and those numbers are likely to grow.
Smith claimed that the new platform provides provide context and current agriculture data to help producers make informed decisions for their operations.
“The agriculture industry is facing numerous challenges, from commodity price volatility to rising input prices and ongoing supply chain issues,” Said Smith.
The benefactors of this new platform do not only include large-scale agricultural production, according to the release. Individuals with a garden can also benefit from their articles and easy contact with ag professionals.
