Greeneville City Schools has announced that Nancy Philbeck has been named the new assistant principal of Greeneville Middle School.
Philbeck has been an educator in Greeneville City Schools for 24 years and has served as music specialist, related arts team leader, STEM leader, and TNReady TCAP testing coordinator at Hal Henard Elementary School. At the district level, she has developed and implemented numerous initiatives including the Greeneville City Schools District Elementary Typing Curriculum and the CarRider Pro Student Dismissal Program at Hal Henard Elementary School and Greeneville Middle School. Additionally, since 2015 Philbeck has served as District Coordinator of the 4th-8th grade FIRST Inspires Lego Robotics League. During the past 8 years, she has also served as the coach of the 3rd – 8th grade Block Jocks robotics team which has consistently earned top placement at regional and state-level competitions.
In 2015, Philbeck was awarded the Greeneville City School’s Excellence in Technology Award and in 2020, she was selected to participate in the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network. In 2016, she was selected as a member of the Greeneville City Schools Teacher Leader Academy, and in 2023 she was selected as a member of the Greeneville City Schools Aspiring Administrator Academy and site director for the Eastview & Hal Henard Summer Learning Camp.
Philbeck is active in the community, previously serving as manager of the Junior Greeneville Girls Galaxy soccer team, the Greeneville Galaxy Academy training teams, and the Tri-Cities United U-14 girls soccer team. She and her husband, Cam, have three children, all of whom attend Greeneville City Schools.
