The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that the state’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.3 percent in May.
Tennessee employers added 2,700 jobs between April and May.
The state unemployment rate a year ago was 3.2 percent, which is the state’s all-time lowest jobless number. Nonfarm employment across the state increased by 75,000 jobs during the past year.
The national unemployment rate for May was 3.7 percent, up from 3.4 percent in April.
