The Town of Greeneville Public Works Department announced this afternoon the town will be temporarily removing plastic recycling bins.
The receptacles will be removed from EastView Parks and Recreation Center on East Bernard Avenue, Greene County Farmer’s Co-Op on West Main Street, Greene County Partnership on Academy Street, and Hal Henard Elementary School and Greeneville Middle School on East Vann Road.
During this time, plastics should not be placed in any other recycling bins, which would contaminate those materials. Items must not be left outside of bins.
The company that accepts plastic recycling from the town cannot do so at this time due to mechanical failure of equipment. Once repairs have been made and the company is once again accepting plastics, bins will be put back in place and an announcement will be made.
