A man was arrested Tuesday after he ran a stop sign and was given more charges after it was discovered he was concealing something in his body.
The vehicle was seen after 5 AM on Emerald Road near the West Andrew Johnson Highway in Mosheim when a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, Randy King of Greeneville, had a warrant out for domestic assault and was placed into custody. After arriving at the jail the suspect allegedly became uncomfortable when asked if he had anything concealed in his body. He was advised on the repercussions of bringing contraband into the facility and stated he did not have anything concealed.
King later admitted before being taken for a body scan he had Suboxone in a bottle in between his butt cheeks. Suboxone is used for reasons like withdrawal symptoms and to reduce dependence on opioids. A small bottle wrapped in tape was recovered by jail personnel that had less than a gram of a crystal-like substance consistent with Methamphetamine, as well as other small amounts of narcotics.
During the scan King was found to have had another item concealed in his rectum. He was given charges including Manufacture, Delivery, Sale or Possession of Methamphetamine and Introduction Contraband In Penal Institution.
