A Telford woman was charged with felony evading arrest following an incident on Saturday.
Washington County deputies responded to Corby Bridge Road in Chuckey after reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle, which had an expired license plate.
The driver, 22-year-old Autumn Payne, reportedly refused to comply when deputies attempted a traffic stop. After a short pursuit, Payne was stopped at an address on Wilhoit Road.
She was charged with felony evading arrest, violation of the financial responsibility law, driving without or on an expired driver’s license, and operating an unregistered vehicle. She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
