A Mohawk man was arrested for public intoxication after he was found passed out along the side of the road Sunday night.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded around 11:00 PM to the area of Mountain Valley Road and Jenkins Lane.
Alexander Boyd of Mountain Valley Road was found lying on the side of the road passed out. He told the deputy he got to the store and was trying to get people to buy him alcohol. Eventually someone did and Boyd walked down the road with the alcohol.
Boyd said he was not sure what happened and why he passed out. The deputy noticed Boyd had been apparently already drinking and smelled strongly of alcohol.
He was transported to the Greene County Detention Center for public intoxication.
