One person was injured in a wreck on Interstate 81 involving a tractor trailer Saturday morning.
According to the preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:35 Saturday morning near the 17.5 southbound mile marker in Greene County.
A Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Jamie Lovin of Ooltewah, Tennessee, was traveling southbound on I-81 and changed lanes. It struck a Ford Fiesta driven by 26-year-old Mikan Taylor of Greeneville, causing the car to run off the road into the median and overturn. The car came to rest on its top and the truck came to a controlled stop on the median shoulder.
Taylor’s condition was unavailable this morning. Lovin was not injured.
Taylor and Lovin were reportedly both wearing seat belts. Charges are pending against Lovin, according to the report.
