A local Greeneville man was hacked.
Greene County Police responded to a Computer Hacking on Chuckey Ruritan Road South. The victim stated that someone hacked his computer and requested that he send them money to avoid their account being closed.
The victim stated he thought it was legitimate and sent a total of $54,000 to the suspects through Bitcoin. If you are hacked or receive threatening emails, texts, or calls demanding any sum of money, do not pay the suspects and call the local police or TBI immediately.
