One person died and another was injured in a single-vehicle accident on North Mohawk Road early Thursday morning.
The wreck occurred around 12:30 AM in the 500 block of North Mohawk Road near West Andrew Johnson Highway.
A Honda Civic driven by 42-year-old Daniel W. Howard was traveling northbound on North Mohawk Road. The car was negotiating a left hand curve and lost control. The car then slid across the centerline, went into a ditch, rolled over, and struck a tree.
A passenger in the vehicle, 65-year-old James G. Cox, died in the accident. Howard suffered suspected minor injuries.
Charges are pending against Howard, according to the accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
