Greeneville Police Department spoke with a man who walked into the department to report a van behind a business and suspicious activity.
The man said he saw the van on Tuesday on Austin Street and approached it. A male jumped out from behind an abandoned Chevy that was in the back lot of the business. The complainant reportedly tried to approach the man but the man got into the van and left. The complainant stated he believed the male was attempting to cut the Cadillac converter off the truck.
Once at the scene the officer saw a jack underneath the abandoned Chevy and found a lug nut on a bolt that was attached to the catalytic converter. No suspects were known at the time.
