In another impressive showing, Greeneville soccer would defeat Unicoi County 8-1 to claim their 12th region title in the last 13 seasons.
Greeneville would come out firing scoring three goals in the opening ten minutes from Josue Castillo, Spencer Robinson, and Austin Beats. Two of Greeneville’s top scorers would get in on the action over the next five minutes as both Drew Shelton and Brady Quillen would find the back of the net leading to a 5-0 Greeneville lead less than 15 minutes into the game.
Kolby Andrew, Blayden Norton, and Brody Inscore would each score before the conclusion of the 8-1 victory. Greeneville heads to substate outscoring their two regional opponents by a combined score of 17-1.
The Greene Devils will host Seymour in the Class AA State Sectional match on Saturday from Burley Stadium with a return to the Spring Fling and soccer state tournament on the line.
