Two defendants charged with First Degree Murder and multiple counts of Child Abuse/Neglect/Endangerment will go before Judge John F. Dugger Jr. again today.
Ashley Jaira McCamey and Brandon Michael Marsh were arrested on July 20th, 2021 in connection with the death of McCamey’s 10-month-old baby, who died in April 2021 while in their care. Both attended court last week for a Criminal Motions Hearing. Defense Attorneys asked for a motion to have both defendants tried separately, that motion was denied. Attorney’s also asked for a continuance on the trial. The motion was granted and continued until September 11, 2023.
Judge Dugger set a deadline for today for both to decide if they want to enter a plea or continue to trial. If defendants decide to plead guilty, the judge will set a date for them to be sentenced. They will go before Judge Dugger this afternoon in the Greene County Circuit Court.
