A Greeneville man was charged on Saturday with making non-emergency calls to 911.
John Calvert of East McKee Street called 911 around 5:30 PM stating the Pentagon and Antifa were after him. The Greeneville Police Department responded to Calvert’s residence to perform a welfare check.
Calvert invited officers into the apartment, then reportedly began screaming that they were not investigating a national laboratory crime. Calvert continued to talk incoherently, but said he did not want to harm himself or others.
Officers attempted to help Calvert, but that resulted in him screaming at them. Officers left the scene and then 911 received another call from him. Calvert was told not to call 911 back unless he had an emergency. He then reportedly called back two more times and began threatening 911.
Officers responded back to Calvert’s apartment. He was arrested and transported to the Greene County Detention Center for misusing 911.
