A structure fire was reported on Click Road Tuesday.
The caretaker of the property was notified that the shed burned over night. According to the report, there was a large fire that did damage to trees around the area and burned down power lines that ran to a barn several yards behind the shed. The power lines appeared to have fallen in the field across the road and caused a small field fire. The complainant has no information regarding the reason of the fire, but states nothing was stored inside the shed that could have caught fire, without being ignited by another source.
The report states there have been many complaints regarding burglaries, thefts, and “squatting”, at the multiple residences and buildings owned by the owners on Click Road. He believes the shed was burned either maliciously or by individuals illegally trespassing on the property.
The Fire Department was dispatched to ensure that no flames would rekindle and ignite the forested area behind the shed. Greeneville Energy Authority was also dispatched to the residence due to the power lines still being down in the field. After several violent electric shocks to the ground, it was discovered that the downed lines were still live. GEA removed a transformer from the pole as well as the downed lines.
