Chuckey-Doak High School Athletic Director Kyle Donahue announced on Monday that the program has hired Billy Kaylor as the eleventh head football coach in school history. Kaylor replaces Dallas Kuykendall, who stepped down earlier this month to accept the same position at Morristown East.
Kaylor comes to Lower Afton after multiple stops in South Carolina including Midland Valley, Camden, and Seneca High School. Kaylor played college football at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina from 2007-2011 and is a native of Villa Rica, Georgia.
Kaylor steps into a program that is coming off a 10-win season and a trip to the TSSAA Second Round in 2022. The Black Knights begin their 2023 campaign and the Coach Kaylor-era on August 18 against Unaka.
