A Greeneville man was arrested for public intoxication early this morning after police responded to the parking lot of a restaurant.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department responded around 4:15 this morning to the parking lot of the Sandwich House at North Main Street and Baileyton Road on the report of a suspicious man in the area. Matthew Waddell was seen walking through the parking lot and into the roadway.
The officer asked if he had taken anything and Waddell replied “all the time.” He also said that he had used not that long ago.
Waddell was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
