Longtime Greene County educator Judy Phillips passed away at 83 years old Wednesday.
She served for 52 years teaching and working for Greene County Schools. Phillips started teaching at Newmansville, taught in Chuckey, and later moved into the Central Office. She worked in the Greene County Schools system until her retirement. Phillips was Assistant Director of Greene County Schools for over 20 years and also served as Interim Director in 2015.
She was active in the community as she was a member at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, served as Second Vice President in the Andrew Johnson Women’s Club, and did much more in the community as well as for students and staff at Greene County Schools.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home will receive friends and family Friday from 5-7 PM and Saturday from 3-5 PM. Memorial services follow at 5 PM Saturday afternoon in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel.
