A County Elementary School student was charged with threats of mass violence on school property Tuesday after the Greene County Sheriff’s Department was notified of intimidation.
The juvenile was reportedly upset because his cell phone was taken away. The report states he made comments Monday morning on the school bus, saying he was going to shoot up the school and a teacher. During the investigation, teachers were advised of the situation and heard from witnesses who confirmed the threats. The juvenile’s parents were notified and requested at the school.
The report of the incident said the juvenile stated his father would be bringing a gun to the school as well. However, Radio Greeneville News spoke with both the father and juvenile, both of whom stated that no such statement was made to that effect. A court appearance is scheduled for May 3rd.
