The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, along with other area agencies, are investigating multiple vehicle burglaries.
Each of the vehicles impacted were reportedly left unlocked with valuables visible.
Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton said in a press release that it appears to be the same group hitting unlocked vehicles in neighborhoods. Of the more than 40 recently reported break-ins, around a dozen included the theft of firearms that were left unsecured.
Residents are reminded to keep vehicles locked, do not leave any valuables inside, and to secure guns inside a residence at night.
