An Afton man reported a possible fraud attempt to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Monday.
The Babbs Mill Road man said he received a text that morning from an unknown number that contained a photo of his Tennessee driver’s license and his social security number. The message also stated that someone had hacked his phone in order to steal money from his account.
The victim checked with his bank and there was no money missing from his account. Also at the time of the report, there had not been any new credit opened up in his name.
