A man was charged with weapons violations over the weekend.
Deputies responded to a disturbance on Rambo Road Sunday afternoon. The home owner, Jarrod Cook, had called deputies and stated his ex wife was being disruptive and he wanted her to leave.
Deputies were told by both individuals, that Cook was a truck driver, and he had picked up the woman in Missouri and brought her here. Cook admitted to deputies that he was a convicted felon and there was a gun safe inside the home that he did not have access to.
Deputies entered the home and found Amy Henderson of Missouri in bed. She told deputies there was a firearm in the closet and also that she couldn’t leave the premises due to medical issues. Deputies attempted to have her trespassed, but she refused, at one point running back to the bedroom from the garage.
A witness reportedly stated that the firearm, a 9mm handgun, did belong to the Cook. Cook continued to deny allegations of owning the firearm, but with the gun being found in a closet inside his bedroom, and with a written witness statement, Cook was taken into custody charged with a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Amy Henderson was then also taken into custody. The witness turned over text messages to officers which had been exchanged between him and Cook on an earlier date, which included the combination to the gun safe.
Both suspects were transported to the Greene County detention center.
