Three people were arrested early this morning after they were found passed out in a vehicle in the 6000 block of the Asheville Highway.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene around 2:15 AM and found two people passed out in the front seats and one passed out in the back.
The driver, Robert Shipley of Whitehouse Road, reportedly had a firearm lying on his lap. The three were called out using the loud speaker on the patrol vehicle and were detained. The passengers were identified as Mary Shipley of Whitehouse Road and Shannon Fasnacht of Weems Chapel Road.
A K-9 deputy alerted on the vehicle, which resulted in a search. A pill bottle with 17 clonazepam pills, a baggie with .52 grams of methamphetamine, and a cigarette pack containing a baggie of .45 gram of meth were found in the vehicle. Fasnacht had two straws on his person, along with a glass pipe, and a container that had 1.6 grams of meth inside.
All three were charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, and public intoxication. Robert Shipley was additionally charged with possession of schedule 4 drugs and possession of a handgun while under the influence. He and Fasnacht were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
