Deputies responded to a motor vehicle theft on Wisecarver Road yesterday night about 8 PM.
According to the report, the victim stated he was in the yard working on the vehicle and said his neighbor, suspect James Evans, was waiting for a ride to a bar. The victim later went inside the home to use the restroom, after returning the vehicle was no longer outside.
Another neighbor of his said he saw the vehicle flying down the road after he went to the restroom. After reporting it stolen to deputies the victim drove into town to search for it at the local bar Evans mentioned he wanted to go to. The vehicle was found in the parking lot of a bar on West Main Street. Evans was located inside the bar. A search was conducted and the keys were found in his pocket. He was arrested for theft and driving on a suspended license.
