The Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet this afternoon at 4 PM at the Greeneville Energy Authority Building, formally known as Greeneville Light and Power.
On the agenda is a resolution to authorize the town to accept a proposal with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for traffic control improvements, at the intersection of Asheville Highway and Van Road on SR-70. TDOT has presented a proposal, which the board will consider at today’s meeting.
There will be a consideration to purchase a server for the town as recommended by the IT staff from Dell Technologies, totaling a little over $19,000. There will also be a public hearing and consideration of the second and final reading, to rezone three parcels of land located on Seaton Avenue from M-2 (High Impact Use) to R-4 (High Density) Residential. The rezoning was recommended on March 14th by the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission for the general welfare of the town.
Furthermore, the board will consider special event requests to close Academy Street for the Depot Street Farmers Market, a special event request for Rural Resources Brew Fest to close South College Street and a portion of Park Street, and a request for a ‘Kids Fishing Day’ on May 6th.
The meeting will wrap up with the Beer Board meeting shortly after. The meeting will be held in the G. Thomas Love Board Room.
