Former Greeneville Alderman and business man Buddy Hawk passed away at his home Sunday morning, at 80 years old.
Hawk was first elected to the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen in 2009 and served for 12 years. He also served on the boards of the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department, the Greeneville and Greene County Public Library, the Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center, and the Greeneville and Greene County Sports Council.
Hawk was also co-owner of the Tailor Shop men’s clothing store from 1978 to 2005.
He was active in sports and a strong supporter of local sports teams. He was inducted into the Greeneville High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.
Visitation for Buddy Hawk will be Friday, March 31, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Jeffers Funeral Home in downtown Greeneville. The funeral service will be at Reformation Lutheran Church Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM, with interment following at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
