In their second straight trip to the TSSAA State Tournament, the Greeneville Lady Devils came out firing against Livingston Academy. A big third quarter though for Livingston would turn the tide and the Lady Devils would fall in a tight one 63-60.
Greeneville led by as many as 16 in the game but would see the lead get struck by halftime to only ten. Livingston would then outscore the Lady Devils in the third quarter 18-4 and use excellent free throw shooting in the final frame to secure a birth in the State Final Four.
Lindy Carter led the Lady Devils in scoring with 12 points while Kyla Jobe added 11 off the bench. Miss Basketball finalist Lauren Bailey was in foul trouble throughout the game but finished with 10 points and finished as the 3rd all-time leading scorer in Greeneville girls’ basketball history. Tambryn Ellenburg scored 9, Chloe Marsh added 8, and Anna Shaw and Delaina Martin each finished with 5.
