A man was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly struck another man with a bladed tool early this morning.
Greeneville police went to a home in the 100 block of Ashland Drive around 4:00 this morning and found the victim in the basement with a large cut on his right forearm. A woman said that the suspect, 54-year-old Samuel Dixon of Bandy Road, came into the kitchen and accused her of stealing his suboxone, then became aggressive toward her.
The woman ran into the room where the victim was sleeping and shut the door, but Dixon forced his way in while carrying a sickle and used it to strike the victim in the arm. Dixon left the home but was found at Hardees on the Asheville Highway, where he was taken into custody.
