Five people have been charged following an investigation of drugs being sent to the Greene County Detention Center.
According to a press release issued today by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation of drugs being sent to the jail began in early February. It was discovered that several people were involved. Two people from outside the facility were reportedly mailing contraband to three inmates.
66-year-old Angela D. Hudson and 44-year-old Felica D. Saults, both of Johnson City, allegedly mailed the drugs to three inmates, 45-year-old Israel Branham, 33-year-old Clinton G. Davis and 48-year-old Ronald G. Foshie. All five have been charged with the manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
SORT Commander Josh Riddle, with assistance from officers with the Greene County Detention Center and detectives with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, charged the inmates. Hudson and Saults were arrested with the assistance of the Johnson City Police Department.
Bonds were set at $20,000 on the charges. All five appeared in Greene County Sessions Court on Wednesday.
