A man from Mosheim has been scammed out of almost $9,000 after locating a website online for the purchase of Bulldogs.
The victim from Shackleford Road told the Greene County Sheriff’s Department he contacted the website American Bulldogs and wanted to buy 2 dogs. He was told the dogs were $1,000 a piece. Payment was made to the business February 7th. They later contacted him stating the dogs were at a vet sick and required vet and insurance fees totaling over $2,500.
According to the report, after the victim sent payment an email was sent to him from ‘Air Pet Travels’ requesting an additional $1,400 for permit documents and quarantine paperwork before shipping the dogs and $2,800 for a health certificate and rabies vaccinations.
The victim eventually realized he was being scammed after speaking with the suspect via telephone.
