Multiple thefts were reported over the last two days to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
Theft was reported on East Allens Bridge Road about 2:15 PM yesterday. According to the report a 53-horse power John Deere Tractor estimated at $20,000 was stolen from the barn on the property along with a John Deere MX6 bush hog totaling over $3,000. No suspects were known at the time.
Theft was also reported yesterday around 4:30 PM on Kitchen Branch Road. The complainant stated the garage was broken into. On Tuesday the complainant stated they did not notice anything suspicious when going to feed cattle, but yesterday discovered a battery charger that was hooked up to a four-wheeler was stolen. Items were tossed around in the garage and the suspect also took a jar of change. No one was named in the report at the time of the incident.
This morning, the Sheriff’s Department responded to theft from Food City on 2755 East Andrew Johnson Highway. The officer spoke with Loss Prevention who stated an employee, identified as Tyler Sweat, was taking items at the Market including snacks like trail mix, beef jerky, and pop corn while working over the last week. He was trespassed from the property with no incident.
